Here's to 2015

They say bad things come in threes. I remember the first time I heard the phrase, I was watching a Feature Films for Families movie called "The Best Bad Thing." And in the movie, bad thing did come in threes. Even deaths come in threes on Grey's Anatomy (because Grey's a legitimate source), and I swear celebrity deaths too. I'm hoping that applies to bad years too, because I know I didn't drop a mirror.

I had such high hopes for 2014 after having two bad years. While I did have some great moments during 2014, it wasn't the banner year I was looking for. My whole year was tainted. Years from now I probably won't think so but from where I stand everything has been touched by that one moment. By spring I was a shell of a person, so devastated and confused I didn't know what to do with myself. I even gave up on my 2014 goals because what was the point?

That's why I decided to really prepare myself for 2015, because I want with everything that I am for it to be a banner year! I decided to look for and focus on the good in my life instead of being blinded by all the bad that had happened. That's why I'm participating in the 100 Happy Days Challenge. I wanted to be in a different place when the new year came around, to be prepared to see the happy things next year. If you want to see change, you have to be the change. I can see that change taking place in my heart and mind a little more each day. I start the day looking for something to smile about, even if it's in the mundane details of life. Because I want to live life joyful.
